ASRock Expands Phantom Gaming Lineup with Radeon RX Vega Cards

ASRock has expanded its Phantom Gaming lineup with AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 GPUs running at reference clock rates. This launch allows ASRock to move into AMD’s top-of-the-range offerings.
ASRock’s Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 graphics cards are based on AMD’s reference design with air cooling featuring a composite vapor chamber and a high-performance blower. ASRock’s Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega 64 runs at 1247-1546 MHz, whereas the Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega 56 operates at 1156-1471 MHz, exactly what AMD recommends. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors as well as an HDMI 2.0 header.
ASRock started to offer its own graphics adapters this March and is still a new player in this market. The company’s Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 500-series video cards are available worldwide, but sources close to AMD believe that ASRock’s main focus with these board is China. Meanwhile, since AMD's Radeon RX Vega offerings are considerably more expensive than Polaris-based devices, it is likely that the products may be concentrated primarily on Western markets.
Pricing of ASRock’s Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega graphics cards is something that remains to be seen, but expect them to cost comparably with rivals based on the same GPUs and featuring AMD’s reference design.

Asrock is an AIB (add in board partner) very very few "makers" (Asus, MSI, Asrock, EVGA etc) have anything to do with the design or manufacture of the boards in question besides sometimes using their own fans or a more customized bios, they "order" the finished card and slap stickers on it, or sometimes when doing "custom" designs they do their own fans or own Vregs etc (though very few AIB are large enough to even bother going this high up the design side, the larger ones such as Sapphire, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte do, I am really not so sure if the remainder of Radeon partners do this, beyond "ordering" as a finished product besides maybe just using their own fans or a more customized bios style)that being said, weird Asrock would even bother "expanding their lines" because as of yet I have NOT seen a SINGLE Radeon graphics cards from them for sale anywhere, almost seems like paper launching potential products more than anything else at this point A and B, I live in Canada, 100% direct within country RMA is either Asus or MSI (sadly) which means all the other gpu "makers" at least for Radeon while cool or neat are not even on my radar.
some of them that the gpu has to get shipped to USA (such as Sapphire, Gigabyte, XFX, Asrock) which all of them have numerous horror stories and extra cost to do this vs just shipping within country, let alone some of the others which are completely off my radar (Visiontek, Diamond, Powercolor)....I really really do not get how ANY gpu or cpu would be "dead on arrival" if they were 100% properly tested for voltages, temperatures and so forth before they were put into a box and sold as a "working unit" and when they are not the customer has to pay extra to send it to the AIB who may or may not replace through RMA something that should have worked properly right off the bat.
"This is why we cannot always have nice things"...proper QC goes a very long way, these things are not exactly dirt cheap purchases after all.
I refuse to buy anything Ngreedia for many reasons, so for me it is Radeon or nothing (for graphics) with the very rare exception of an Intel cpu that has their own igp built into it.
On another note, "comparable pricing" means "greed priced by sellers when it actually hits the store shelf" because "miners buy them all so we will shaft EVERYONE on the price because we have no control over it" >:(
but the way this article is written, this is 100% and OEM style GPU directly from AMD hands into Asrock hands who provides the box, manuals, driver disk (possibly) extra things such as pci-e power cables and/or warranty support, it has essentially nothing to do with AMD when it is sold to Asrock (besides Catalyst/Crimson drivers)
