Bill Gates – lead and backing vocals, harmonica, guitar Steve Ballmer – guitar, backing and lead vocals, bass guitar Satya Nadella – drums, percussion Paul Allen – guitar, lap steel guitar, pedal steel guitar, slide guitar, backing vocals, bass guitar
This might be the way to go. This watch already does more than any other fitness watch on the market, and being platform agnostic makes this a very compelling choice. I'm really surprised it has gps as well as apple healthkit support.
Since the operating temperature is -10°C to 40°C I wonder how it will deal with a person, running outside in the sun (let´s say 30 in the shade). Would a warm body plus exposure to direct sunlight make it go above 40 for an extended period of time?
As TLB pointed out, it's sitting against your nice warm skin. If your armflesh hits -20 celsius you have bigger problems to worry about. Such as the white dragon bearing down on you, and your now-useless shield arm.
The iPhone is 0°C to 35°C.. when you use that outside does it spontaneously burst into flames? Right.. Not to mention this things is flush up against the skin whereas the iPhone in use is erect like a giant heat sink.. there is your answer then, move along people.
So this will generate quite the research database. Knowledge will not always help, though. Shitty sleep quality might become worse from knowing I have shitty sleep quality, and the only remedy is taking a few chemicals to induce the brain that everything is hunky dory.
"Microsoft Band is a smart band designed to be worn continuously, 24 hours a day." With a 48 hour typical battery life, that's going to be very inconvenient.
"Less than 1.5 hours" sounds like a lot actually, I think some Wear watches charge faster than that. The dual battery arrangement seems interesting tho, are those in the band's side sections?
It said it can get a 80% charge in 30 minutes. That's a lot more reasonable. I bet charging it during your daily shower or drive to work will likely be enough.
Seems like there should be a way to get either wireless (qi) charging and/or a lower power display that could get you up to e-ink-based ereader-like times.
Do you shower? If you shower daily, you should be fine.. it takes 1.5 hours to get 2 days, take it off before getting ready to shower, do all the showering, dry yourself, find clothes oh my 45 minutes have passed, put back on.
Smart move to make this cross-platform. I would definitely be interessted in a second or third generation product(I would want more than 48 hours of battery life)
Does the heart-monitor actually work? I bought a Basis smart watch with heart-rate tracker, and it could have been very cool, but the heart-rate monitor was terribly inaccurate.
I ordered one within an hour of seeing the announcement/release. I've had a basis band that worked poorly, so I have high hopes for accuracy and reliability of the sensors.
I'll do a review after I've had it for a week or so.
What about SEX? Will the Band offer advice? Will it document how frequently you have sex and for how long and what intensity? Will know with whom you have sex? At work with your secretary? Alone in the shower?
Read the article on Thursday evening, slept on it then decided to pull the trigger Friday morning, SOLD OUT. That was fast?? I guess if you snooze you lose.
