Of course this is announced right after I said that consumers who wanted Zen 2 in a small system were left in a tough spot after AMD's announcement that PCIe 4 wouldn't be ported back to 400-series chipsets, given that I don't think there were any X470 (or 370) ITX boards.

There are X470 and X370 ITX boards, though ASRock (the OEM) noted those boards basically had no benefit (from the chipset) over the B450/B350. People wanted them, so they delivered it and bundled a better Intel WiFi card to compensate.

At least Asus and Asrock have X470 ITX boards. Can't remember for X370.

There are quite a few ITX X370 and X470 boards. Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte, MSI and Biostar all have at least one. There are usually B3/450 models that are very similar for cheaper (which made sense with those chipsets as the feature difference didn't matter), but there are X-series ones too. I should know, I'm typing this on a computer with one in it.

I just bought a B450 mITX board, but I think Asus had an X470 mITX board when I was shopping. Not that I need X470.

Although now I'm questioning my purchase :(

Buildzoid did a VRM analysis on it, looks strong.

Since ryzen is a soc, why manufactures don't release motherboards without the x570 chipset? Sure it will have less usb/sata/etc ports, but for mini-itx, like this one it makes sense.

If that would get rid of the active cooling, then so be it.

I hope they make one with TB3. Or at least a micro atx so I can add a tb3 card.

That back plate would cause lots of issues in SFF systems for sure. Never saw one so big like that to fit in a case, not sure dimensions on it, but even the basic silver looking ones are hard to get in just right.

Yeah, hopefully that cover comes off or something. Won't be able to fit my exhaust.

I remember the active cooled chipsets from way back in the PC's golden age. The sound was bearable when they where new, but after about a year they sounded awful. Manufactors probably clam these new coolers ain't nothing like that, but I have heard enough laptops sounding like small vacuum cleaners to question that. So I simply refuse to purchase any motherboard with active cooling.
Am I the only consumer thinking like this?

I hope the fans have one of those 0db features so it doesn't turn on unless you're running multiple NVME SSDs

    No 2.5/5/10G NIC? Fail.
