- We are the only engine to use our own bots to fish price data directly from the merchant. RTPE uses a search technology called Irk that trawls thousands of links per hour to assure the best prices. Unlike other price engines that use various XML feeds and FTP servers to setup price data, Irk pulls data directly from the merchant, just as you would if you were to buy the product. Not only is our data collection more up to date than other services, but it is also more accurate as the merchant's price is tired directly to their shopping cart.
- We track all highly recommendated and rated merchants. Since we do not collect revenue from the merchants for link traffic, we are free to use merchants that have competitive pricing rather than deep advertising pockets. No other price searches share this approach.
- RTPE tracks OEM, Retail, Rebated and Refurbished items separately, so you can find what you're looking for easily. You'll always know if the product is a Retail boxed item if you track it through RTPE.
- We keep a historical log of prices available for anyone using our service. Via RTPE's email alert system, our data analysis packages will email you when we see a product move based on various criteria.
- We are the only price engine to offer private RSS feeds and WAP search so that you can check RTPE for the best prices without even using a computer. RTPE has lots of other functions as well, including email alerts, site licenses, syndication, product recommendations and market analysis.
- We've been tracking realtime prices on the internet since 2001 and recommending products to readers since 1997. There are hundreds of products in our databases older than most shopping engines and review websites.
